What is the best type of jazz b pick ups?

i'm trying to go for more of a funk approach; kinda like Jaco or victor wooten. I plan on getting darkstars in the future, but right now i'm trying to decide between seymour duncans single-coil Js or fender custom j-pickups 60s. i have a mexican fender jazz.
