HELP!!! I lost my sisters snake and it is loose some where in my house!!! My rat fainted?

My pet rats figured out how to open their cage door while I was sleeping. When I woke up I wasnt THAT worried because they ALWAYS come when called. So I went to check my oldest sisters room because I new they would be there. It was the only room they werent allowed in. I woke up at 10:30 and everybody left but me,which is rare. I called their names and all I heard was squeaking I found 2 of my rats near the snake tank and the third one was in it and just when I got there my rat was jumping like crazy around the little tree logs and bit my sisters snake right in the face and wouldnt let go so the snake darted up the entrance and my rat finally let go and the snake just kept going. I checked on my rat and surprisingly he was ok and jumped in my hand and it looked as if he fainted. Where would a snake hide in the house and is there a way to coax it out and has a rat ever gotten away from your snake before? Also those who own rats is it common for them to faint from fear?
